Helping Mrs. C
DTE Energy contacted Great Dane Heating, Cooling, Electrical, & Plumbing with concerns of a senior citizen in Clinton Township with no heat. The DTE representative had stated that another company was at her home, performing a fall furnace tune-up and had condemned her furnace for having high levels or carbon monoxide.
Field Supervisor Joe Feger was sent to the home to check the condition of the furnace and to make sure that Mrs. C. was in good hands. The furnace inspection showed that there were indeed high levels of carbon monoxide and a cracked heat exchanger. Mrs. C. had explained to Joe that financially it was impossible to repair or replace her furnace. Her husband had recently been sent to an assisted living home and the majority of their income was being spent to take care of his needs.
Comfort Consultant Dave Gladue met with Mrs. C. to hear her story and to view the situation. Knowing the Project Warmth funds were running low from flood recoveries a couple months prior, Dave then contacted DTE Energy to reach out for a little help. DTE Energy agreed to help pay for half of the repair in order to help Mrs. C’s situation.
Normally it would be difficult to find the heat exchanger for Mrs. C’s furnace, but miraculously we happened to have one in stock! Mrs. C. is now warm and most importantly SAFE thanks to DTE Energy, Project Warmth and YOU!!
